Empowering Young Leaders: Leadership and Announcing Skills Workshop for 650 Students at Madurawala Maha Vidyalaya

On the 10th of March 2026, a highly impactful Leadership Training Workshop and Announcing Skills Development Program was successfully conducted at the Madurawala Auditorium of Madurawala Maha Vidyalaya. The program was organized with the objective of nurturing leadership qualities and communication skills among school students.

Approximately 650 students participated in this interactive training session, making it one of the largest student development workshops conducted at the school. The event focused on building confidence, improving presentation abilities, and preparing students to take on leadership roles both within and beyond the school environment.
The workshop covered several key aspects of effective communication and leadership, including voice training, body language, eye contact, mental concentration, and stage confidence. Students were given practical insights into how these elements contribute to becoming a confident speaker and a capable leader.
A special segment of the program was dedicated to announcing and public speaking skills, helping students understand how to properly address an audience, structure their speech, and maintain strong stage presence. These skills are particularly valuable for students who participate in school events, debates, and leadership roles such as prefects or student council members.

The training session was conducted by Lion Dayapala Pathirage, an experienced trainer from the Media Foundation, who guided the students through various engaging exercises and demonstrations. Through interactive activities, real-life examples, and practical techniques, the students were able to clearly understand how communication skills can influence leadership and personal development.
The event was organized with the support and collaboration of community leaders who strongly believe in empowering the younger generation with the skills necessary to succeed in today's competitive world.
Students responded with great enthusiasm and actively participated throughout the session. Many expressed that the workshop helped them overcome stage fear and gain confidence in expressing their ideas in front of an audience.

Overall, the program concluded successfully with positive feedback from both students and school staff. Initiatives such as this play an important role in shaping confident, capable, and responsible young leaders for the future.
